    Long Acres Touring Park has introduced passive / infrared sensors to the lights within the facility block to reduce energy. The lights are timed and are responsive to daylight levels. All lighting throughout the site uses low energy lamps.

    Air Extraction / Ventilation

    The facility block has a heat recovery ventilation system which uses the Shower / Heated stale air to partially heat the fresh incoming air from the outside, the system uses a bidirectional radiator and is rated at 70 % efficiency in transferring heat.

    Recycling

    We strongly encourage all our guests to use our Refuse and Recycling area. All reclaimable materials are sent for recycling. There are two specific area’s containing specifically labelled dust bins to accept the following:

    • Clear Glass
    • Green / Brown Glass
    • Paper, Cans, Plastic bottles & Cardboard
    • General Rubbish

    Nature & Wildlife

    The grass is deliberately left long in specific areas and along the perimeter of the site – to encourage wildlife to the site. Bird feeders have been installed through the site, guests are welcome to bring peanuts for the birds.
